Countdown to Publication

Hey, History Isn't Boring Anymore! A Creative Approach to Teaching the Civil War is scheduled to begin printing in early 2008. Offering a variety of creative articles that abandon the traditional textbook style and bring the story to history, the book also includes lesson ideas and activities as a supplement. Fully illustrated by the author's personal photographs of Civil War reenactments and artifacts, the book will excite middle level readers and teachers alike. Published through White Mane Publishing.

Confederate Marksman After Hey, History Isn't Boring Anymore! was accepted for publication by White Mane Publishing, photos needed to be added to the manuscript. All of the photos used in the book are from the photo library of the author, and each one was taken in Pennsylvania at various reenactments and locations.

Confederate artillary The author is grateful to all the reenactment troops who invited her and her camera to their events. The Thunder on the Mountain reeanctment at Twin Grove Park in Lebanon, PA provided many of the photos featured in the book.

Mason Dixon Quilt Show Kelly visited the Mason Dixon Quilt Show on April 19th and 20th 2008 in Hagerstown, MD. She set up activities in the children's section of the show and talked to visitors about women's effects on the Civil War through their sewing.
